4. Qualities
I used to always be shy but after High School
and Esthetics, I pretty much came out of my
shell. Im a bubbly, genuinely nice person who
loves helping others in any way possible.
When I set my mind to it, I can and will do
anything. Mainly, I learn through visuals and
the act of practicing.

Guests still to this day ask when I will
be able to give them a facial, which
should be soon.
7. Environmental Philosophy
I believe the world is a beautiful place, and too
many people take that for granted. Our earth is
being depleted and we need to lower our
impact, although Mother argues otherwise. I am
passionate about recycling, and typically yell at
litterbugs. If I had gone to college, I would have
enrolled in the ASU environmental program.
However, being involved in Aveda definitely
quenched my hunger for taking a part in
reducing environmental impact in my chosen
career path.
8. I am typically infinity air, although I switch from fire
and water from time and time. Nonetheless, I certainly
take on the role of air by being thin, high energy,
anxious and nervous. My skin tends to be dry and likes
to hold onto nutrients.
Being a very open person, I enjoy learning about
different cultures and practices. Something that stood
out was Ayurveda. It is amazing how many natural
remedies can cure every day colds to rare diseases that
seem so inoperable when visiting standard doctors.
I also love the idea of balancing your chakra and simply
leading a healthy lifestyle. Aromatherapy does
wonders for my allergies and stomach aches!

17. This is and always will be my
mission statement (Including
Aveda)
Our mission at Aveda is to care for the
world we live in, from the products we make to
the ways in which we give back to society. At
Aveda, we strive to set an example for
environmental leadership and responsibility, not
just in the word of beauty, but around the
world.
18. Aveda vs. The World of Beauty
Comparative Statement
Paul Mitchell
The visit to Paul Mitchell Scottsdale was decent. The school was a bit small, yet nice.
They teach students through the theory of multiple intelligences from Harvard, which
I am pretty sure is equivalent to the Aveda teaching theory. They are a little conscious
about their effect on nature and carry recycle-friendly products. There were a lot of
girls my age, but also quite a few older students. Study abroad was offered, and salon
visits also. Maybe it was the fact that all the girls had damaged, bleach blonde hair,
but I felt I didnt want to be a part of it. It seemed like just another typical beauty
school where all the girls simply focus on how to improve their looks and dont pay
attention to anything else.
19. Empire Beauty School
Empire Beauty School was honestly not impressive. The only positive, for me, was
that you had a chance to meet Nick Arrojo while attending, but the chances were
slim. The salon floor was tiny, the class room was tiny. Curriculum was innovative
and hands on based, although all beauty schools should be hands on? I never
heard or found anything on a study abroad program or furthering your education
afterwards. A majority of the students were older ladies, and it seemed that
everyone had really odd hair styles. I felt like if I went here, I would eventually
obtain a cheesy hair cut too.
20. Aveda
What sets Aveda apart from other schools, is that it teaches you not only salon
basics and excellent customer service, but also wellness. When a guest comes in,
they expect a haircut, but receive so much more. Aveda takes care of you; you
dont have to think twice about the company. In other words, the products are
earth friendly, the bottles recyclable, the ingredients mostly natural. No matter
what you go in for, you receive a treatment that betters you in some way. Feel
good going in? Feel better coming out! Study abroad and furthering education
programs that are offered intrigue me. There is so much opportunity presented, I
want to seize it all.
