- 3. GravityThis force acts between all masses in the universe and acts between everything.Einstein discovered this force first through the famous story about the apple falling on his head.
- 4. ElectromagneticThis force acts between electrically charged particles. Electricity, magnetism, and light are all produced by this force.
- 5. The Strong ForceThis force binds neutrons and protons together in the cores of atoms and is a short range force.
- 6. Weak ForceThis force allows beta decay to happen which changes a neutron into a proton and electron. This allows for radiation to occur.
- 8. MagnetismA physical phenomenon produced by the motion of electric charge, resulting in attractive and repulsive forces between objects.
- 9. Magnetic Field LinesMichael Faraday called the lines you see lines of force but was changed to field lines. This helps describe the direction of the force on a magnet.
- 10. ElectromagnetElectromagnets can be made by wrapping a wire around a metal and then putting current through the wire.
- 12. Magnetic MotorMagnetic motors can be used to turn electrical energy into a rotation and is used nearly everywhere. When the electrons flow through the wire it attracts the magnets causing them to spin.
- 13. Rediscovering MagnetismGravity is a force. It has an infinite range which means it occurs between all matter. It is only noticed when we think between two big objects.Magnetism is a force. Books say it does not have an infinite range. Just because we cannot see it between two objects does not mean there is no magnetism between all matter.
- 14. Magnetism vs. GravityMagnetism can make objects attract each other and repel while gravity is only seen as the attraction of two objects. Personally I think gravity is a part of magnetism.
