Scene 1: (early morning shift)(8-4pm)
Narrator: warning bell rangs but still some
workers haven't punched their id cards yet. W2
comes running and swaps his id.
w1:how are u buddy?
W2:dont ask , nothing is going fine nowadays
W1: why? What's the problem? U look little bit
stressed this days?
W2: yaa i am searching for a new job as
everytime i get late by 1-2 min mangement cuts
my half day's salary.
W1:then why dont you speak with union leader
once in weekly meeting, he might help you.
Scene2: (lunch time)
Union:does anyone have any issue with
management?
W1:we are underpaid and if there is a late
remark, we are paid only for half of that day.
W2:there is no transportation available from our
area and we have to change 2-3 means to get
here which is not only costly but also time
consuming.
W1:there's been no increment from last 15
months whereas i was informed that there will
be incremented every year with quarterly bonus
system.
W2: there's been no sanctioned leave for us and
we are not paid anything if i am on my sick
leave for more than 04 days in a particular
month.
W1: many of us are being abused by
management on our caste. Many of us are man-
handled every time.
Union: okay...i will see to it and discuss with
management.
Scene3: Meeting with management
Union: may i come in, sir?
Hr: yaa , come in.
Union: thanks sir, actually many of the workers
are facing transportation issue as they have to
change 2-3 means to get here which eventually
leads late to work.
Hr: yaa , there's been an increase in number of
latecomers nowadays.
Union: it would be very nice if management can
arrange a company's vehicle for workers which
will eventually reduce late comers and increase
productivity.
Hr: i will see if i can arrange anything as there's
been an cut throat competition in market.
Scene4: strike day
W1 n w2 with union: fulfill our demands;
a)company's transport
b)higher wages
c)better working conditions
Narrator:Hr and Management team hires
additional full-time bouncers and security
personnels to keep strike under control.
Scene5: july 18, 2012
Narrator: Hr calls W1.
W1: sir, may i come in?
Hr: yes
W1: sir, u asked for me?
Hr: there's been frequent complaints regarding
ur behavior with supervisor and absentes.
W1: sir, supervisor is an arrogant person and
sees faults in everything
Hr: ohk so now supervisor should learn from
you how to supervise and deal with others. By
the way why are you so irregular for work
nowadays?
W1: sir, i had some personal function to attend
at my hometown so
Hr: if you are so much interested then do one
thing leave this job and spend rest of your life
celebrating your nonsense functions.
W1: sir you have no right to talk anything about
my religion here.
Hr: do one thing , go to home and don't come to
work from now onwards.
Scene6: lunch
Narrator: W1 discuss his suspension with union
leader and other colleges.
Union: sir, can i have a word with you?
Hr: yaa tell me
Union: sir workers are very upset about W1
suspension, so plz cancel it.
Hr: you don't need to teach me my job
Narrator: union leader comes out from hr cabin.
Hr:(to operator) please ask female manger to see
me urgently.
Female manager:sir, you wanted to see me?
Hr:come in.have a seat.there's been some
miscommunication between management and
workers from last few months. I think you are
all aware about this matter.
Female: yes , i heard there's been some demands
regarding salary hikes and transportation.
Hr: yaa and management is considering all these
but these workers don't understand that it will
take time to bring all these changes to picture.
Female: yaa. I completely agree sir. It will
take time to get this all approved in such a
big reputed company. But where do i fit in this
whole situation?
Hr: actually workers are quite reluctant and
misbehaving with male supervisors, so it will be
good if some female mangement person talks
with them and assure them they will be taken
care off.
Female: sir, that union leader is quite arrogant
and does whatever he thinks as per his wish. I
don't think my discussion will reduce any
tensions.
Hr: if all workers understand your view and that
union leader won't do anything all by himself.
Narrator: female nager speaks with workers and
union leader.
Union leader still angry with Hrs behaviour,
provoke workers to take revenge of their
colleagues suspension.
Scene7: tea break
Narrator: workers secretly distribute iron rods.
On signal of union leader , the workers starts
beating supervisors,managers and hr.
HR cabin is set on fire with Hr being burnt alive
in it. More than 80 management members were
hospitalized after this outrage.
Scene8: media
Narrator: media reports the incident and police
enquires and arrests 245 workers on cctv
footage. Company's plant has been closed
indefinitely.
Scene9: courtroom, MARCH 2017
Narrator: judge sentence life imprisonment to 13
main accused and rest of the 60 workers are
held for attempt to murder and rioting armed
with deadly weapons with 10 years jail.
