Marble Mountains situated seven kim from downtown Da Nang. They are named after the five elements: Kim (metal), Thu? (water), M?c (wood), Ho? (fire) and Th? (earth). The only mountain in the Marble Mountains open to tourists is "Thuy Son" (Water Mountain). For centuries, Marble Mountain has held special significance for the people of central Vietnam. They revered the karsts as a spiritual site. Today, Marble Mountain is home to Mahayana Buddhists, with numerous caves, tunnels, towers, pagodas and shrine buildings that blend harmoniously with nature.
