Mark Ingram Jr. had an impressive high school football career in which he set school records for rushing yards and touchdowns. He was a highly ranked recruit who received an athletic scholarship to the University of Alabama. At Alabama, Ingram had an outstanding sophomore season where he broke school records and won the Heisman Trophy, helping lead the Crimson Tide to an undefeated season and national championship. He was then drafted in the first round by the New Orleans Saints, a rare achievement as a running back.

2. Mark Ingram Jr. started playing sports at an early age. His already impressive high school career as a four-year
starter was an imminent indication of his celebrated college stint with UA. His 鍖nal two seasons in high school
registered a 2,546-yard record of runs with 38 touchdowns. He is more famous as a running back, but his defensive
skills were also formidable when he played cornerback during his senior year at Flint, rendering 84 tackles and
eight interceptions. He graduated from high school in 2008 not only as a top football player but also as an All-State
selection track and 鍖eld athlete. He was ranked as number 17 on a list of high school athletes all over the country.
4. An athletic scholarship brought him at UA, playing with the Alabama Crimson Tide football team under coach
Nick Saban. His sophomore year was a career highlight. At the onset, in the opening game of the 2009-10 against
Virginia Tech, Ingram shows his prowess with a 150-rushing-yard record and two touchdowns. More impressive
numbers will follow for the young Ingram, breaking career charts for Crimson Tide. He also received the Heisman
Trophy in 2009, the 鍖rst for UA. The unanimous All-American athlete was instrumental in the 14-0 undefeated
season record for Crimson Tide and the BCS National Championship.
At the 2011 NFL Draft, Ingram was picked by the New Orleans Saints during the 鍖rst round on the 28th. The last
time a running back was ever drafted during the 鍖rst turn was in 1963. His running style is something to admire,
given his early training on the 鍖eld when he used to be a sprinter and long jumper in high school.
