The Marketo connector app allows capturing a Marketo cookie and storing it as a hidden form field when non-Marketo forms are submitted, linking the leads' web activity history to the form data. It requires minimal changes to existing forms and safely handles errors. A periodic Salesforce batch job then links the Marketo and Salesforce records by matching lead metadata to combine initial form capture with full web history.

1. Marketo Connector App
How to use non-Marketo forms for lead capture and combine it with the lead’s powerful
web history.
In some situations, it is not possible to convert every form on your company’s website or customer login to a Marketo
form yet, as marketers, we still want the rich click tracking journey associated to the lead. The Marketo connector was
purpose built to resolve this solution.
The Marketo connector allows minimal modification of the existing form and only requires that the Marketo cookie be
captured and stored as a hidden form field at lead collection time. This allows marketers to work with their
operation/development teams as the deployment of the Marketo connector is not intrusive to a login process and if
errors occur, fails in a safe manner.
The linking of records between Salesforce and Marketo is executed via a periodic batch job initiated within Salesforce
which will uses the lead’s unique metadata to merge the associated records ultimately bring together the initial form
capture with the web history to detail the lead’s complete customer journey.
