Associates are dedicated to Environmentally Conscious Hospitality Operations Recycling We have a full-time associate dedicated to collecting, sorting and recycling the following: Paper, cardboard & newspaper (93 tons/yr) Glass, plastic, metal products (15.7 tons/yr) Composting of food waste (92 tons/yr) All of this recycling is done behind the scenes We are an active member of the Association of Oregon Recyclers Public Transportation Located blocks from the Portland Streetcar, the Metro Area Express (MAX light rail) and local bus service provides low cost transportation options for our Marriott associates and guests.  Guest room Guests can choose to participate in our linen & towel reuse program which saves water and energy as well as reduces detergents being released into the environment. Water saving Lo-Flow shower heads and aerated sink faucets
Environmentally Conscious Hospitality Operations Hotel Operations and Utilities Energy efficient fluorescent lighting throughout the hotel Energy efficient A/C units in each room Amenity donations made to several local charities Lights are turned off when not necessary  (offices, parking garage, unoccupied guest rooms, etc.)  Ozone system used for all hotel laundry services (the Ozone system cleans utilizing only cold water) Digital Thermostats Pool and spa use saline solutions, therefore reducing the use of hazardous chemicals The majority of cleaning chemicals used are Green Seal certified
