Martela company presentation

Editor's Notes

  • #2: This is the official Martela Company presentation.
  • #3: Back in the 1940's Matti S. Martela had very little personal reason to get excited about workplaces. He wasn't an architect nor a designer neither had he inherited a furniture manufacturing plant. Mr Martela founded the company because he had a good business idea. Today we can safely say that the business idea was a good one. Workplaces are still needed. However, more important than a single piece of furniture is the good concept based on which the company is still being developed today. Our success, our ability to grow and overcome the recessions that have affected the industry over the decades, is based on Mr Martela's principles. These are the principles that he had right from the beginning. Design, interior planning and furniture industry must be considered as a business. One must market and sell. One must go where the business is done. For us, this has meant primarily offices but also schools, public spaces and even nursing homes. Finland is the home market from where we have grown east and west all the way to Australia. Trends pass quickly. They come and they go. Our mission at Martela has always been to create user centric interiors that will remain fresh well into the future. For that we have some experience. Its the knowledge of our history our experiences, successes and lessons learned that we rely on when designing workplaces, furniture and services for our clients. • #6: We can say one thing but look another. For example, we can tell we lead a healthy lifestyle but look the complete opposite. In that case, our words are not very convincing. The same way, a company may have employee wellbeing in their values but if the way the office looks doesnt support the message, no-one is going to believe it.
  • #7: Sustainable workplace Lifecycle model Instead of individual furniture orders, companies receive a comprehensive service from Martela that covers the entire lifecycle of the workplace, looking after the premises, furniture and people. The best work environments create wellbeing for the entire working community. The comprehensive model enabled by Martelas broad selection of products and services makes facilities management easier while helping companies to operate in a more responsible and environmentally friendly way. With better tools for management and future need prediction, the operating expenses of the facilities can be significantly reduced. Pleasant and well-maintained premises that have been designed according to the companys actual needs help to create the desired company image and to attract the best employees. Most importantly, such premises will also help to achieve the companys strategic goals every working day of the year. Take a simple test and find out how much your company could save with Martela Lifecycle.
  • #8: Specifying the workplace need: http://martela.com/workplace-specification To start with, we find out what requirements there are for the working environment. We analyse the business and investigate what the employees do throughout the day. Based on the analyses, we make suggestions on workplaces that support best each activity. Workplace Specification Martela Dynamic Workplace Utilization Services Its not just about expenses, even though they are very important. We have to think about employee comfort. Markku Pirskanen, Chief Financial Officer, Martela Investing in the working environment is a great way to hold on to good employees. Maarit Vuori, Interior Designer, Martela
  • #9: Planning the workplace: http://martela.com/workplace-planning The next step is workplace planning based on the specification. We also have the opportunity to consider companys existing furniture. Can it be relocated, refurbished or should it be recycled. With Martelas Space and Interior Design, you can optimise the use of space in the work environment and brighten up the companys appearance to match the brand values. The design is based on the space plan created during the specification phase on the basis of various needs. • #10: Implementing the workplace: http://martela.com/workplace-implementation The third phase is implementation. Here we deliver the interior according to the plan. • #11: Maintaining the workplace: http://martela.com/workplace-maintenance Organisations and ways of working are undergoing a continuous change. In order to achieve optimum user experience and utilisation rate, each company should review how the working environment is supporting the current way of working on a regular basis and do the required adjustments.
