Masdar is Abu Dhabi's renewable energy initiative, owned by Mubadala Development Company. It has several units including Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Masdar VC for investments, and Masdar City for deployment. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is located at Masdar City with a goal of transitioning the world to sustainable renewable energy. Masdar also hosts the annual World Future Energy Summit conference and the Zayed Future Energy Prize to recognize innovation in sustainable energy solutions.

9. Zayed Future Energy Prize Winners
The first Zayed Future Energy Prize was awarded in 2009 to Dipal Barua,

The 2010 prize was awarded to the Toyota Motor Corporation. Toyota was
singled out for its ground breaking fuel efficiency system in the third-
