The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output. MCC8.F.2 Compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions). Monday 1/14 What is a Function vs. a Relation? Tuesday 1/15 What is a Function? Wednesday 1/16 How many different ways can I represent a Fucntion? Thursday 1/17 How many different ways can I represent a Fucntion? Friday 1/18 OPENING ACTIVITY: Interactive Notebook: Students will record their Unit Vocababulary. Students will be introduced to Functions through Meat-a-Morphosis Video Students will acess Function Machine through their Ipads. Students will spend time practicing Functions. Students will access the Your Teacher App and take mini quiz over Functions. The class will discuss common mistakes. Students will access previous websites and Your Teacher App to review. WORK PERIOD ACTIVITIES: Work Period: Indivdually students will use the Your Teacher app on their Ipads to watch examples of the following: - Domain and Range (1 and 2) Mini Lesson: Mini Lesson: Whole Class- Students will take notes on inputs and outputs in a function. Students will learn how to find a pattern through the function machine. Mini Lesson: Students will complete Function Grpahic Organizer over models of Functions. Using the Your Teacher App students indvdually will review Work Period: Students will be assigned a set of ordered pairs. Students will have to describe it as a function/relation, in a table, through mapping, and a graph. Students will use Work Period: Students will access their Function Quiz using thire iPad. Students will individually take 16 question quiz and submit results
- 2. Whole Class- Students will take brief notes in their IN to describe a function vs. relation. Work Period: Students will access MathScore on their Ipads. They will answer the 5 interactive questions and use the check method. Students should take a photo of check method and send it to Remind101 account for grading. the Function Video examples and practice Work Period: In groups of two students will be assigned a relation or function. Together they will have to identify the example ad explain it through a picture/model and words. . paper/crayson or can use Art of Glow for this project. through Remind 101. CLOSING ACTIVITY: Students will use Your Teacher app to practice domain and range (8 questions) in their table groups. Students will show work and discuss then check their work through the app. iResponse Using iResponse students will answer 10 questions reviewing todays material Students will present their Art work to their peers. iResponse Using iResponse students will answer 10 questions reviewing todays material Students will go back to IN Vocab Flap and provide example of each vocab word.
