1. Nguyen Van Thoan is an Associate Professor of Economics and Business at Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, Vietnam. He is the Head of the Electronic Commerce Department and has over 15 years of experience teaching courses related to e-commerce, management information systems, and electronic marketing. 2. He holds a PhD in Economics from Foreign Trade University as well as master's degrees from the University of New South Wales in Australia and the University of South Carolina in the United States. 3. In addition to his teaching duties, Professor Thoan consults for businesses as head of the Electronic Commerce Department. SUMMARY OF TRAINING AND TEACHING Coming from a math specialized students at High School for gifted students in mathematics under Hanoi National University of Education I (1991-1994), I graduated from the University of Foreign Trade (1999), achieved the first Master in Marketing at the University of NSW, Sydney, Australia (2003), PhD in Economics, Electronic Contracts at Foreign Trade University (2010) and the second Master in E-Business and Technology Management at University of South Columbia, USA (2011). In 2015, the State Council for Professor Title of Vietnam qualified Associate Professor and Foreign Trade University appointed Associate Professor in Economics, Business in November 2015. I have been one of the pioneer teachers in teaching E-Commerce, Management Information Systems and Electronic Marketing with over 15 years teaching experience in this field. I have been teaching several MBA programs and the advanced programs, affiliate programs with several universities from the United States, UK and France. I have guided several graduate students, undergraduate students in three areas: Electronic Commerce, Management Information Systems - Application of Information Technology in Management and Business, Electronic Marketing and Strategic Ecommerce applications, and application Information Systems in businesses. Besides teaching, I have consulted for many businesses as Head of Department of Electronic Commerce. At the same time, I have been acting as a Deputy Director of Training Department, Vietnam Ecommerce Association (2010-present) and have conducted training courses in e- commerce, electronic marketing, management information systems and e-business strategy for many businesses across the country.
