Verbs like bring, buy, give, lend, offer, owe, pay, promise, refuse, send, show, till and teach can be used with two objects, a direct object referring to a thing and an indirect object referring to a person. When a verb has two objects, the sentence can be written two ways with the objects in different orders but maintaining the same meaning, such as "He's bringing new books to me" or "He's bringing me new books".
