Facts and Figures We use the OCR exam board. Both the AS and A2 levels are split into 2 modules.  All modules are 25% of the overall A level. Or 50% of the AS. Module One is on TV Drama and the British Film Industry Module two is coursework where students will create a Music Magazine

Aims of the Course This course is designed to facilitate: The development of media literacy skills to enable you to achieve critical independence in your knowledge, experience and enjoyment of the media. The development of technical and creative production skills to encourage imaginative and aesthetic activity in media contexts
Facts and Figures The specification we are doing has only ran for a year in this school. Yet in this year we were able to achieve: 9 A’s 13 B’s 7 C’s 3 D’s
Equipment 4 Macs 8 PC’s  5 Brand New Digital Camcorder 4 Brand New Digital Cameras Photoshop and InDesign
TV Drama? Here we look at how and why producers and script writers portray certain social groups in specific ways. For example:
British Film Industry? It’s not about watching Films. We look at how Institutions operate and how audiences engage with the film industry.
Coursework For this the students research the music magazine industry, create their own music mag front cover, contents page and double page spread. The coursework is submitted on a blog.
A2 At A2 the students complete another coursework module which focuses on producing a film promotion package. The exam that they take develops their knowledge of media theories in section A. In section B they answer a question based on Media and the collective Identity.
Media and the Collective Identity This year the students have been looking at two subjects. Representation of addicts in film and TV Representation of Football Hooligans
