6. Overview Comité Mexico is an affinity group associated with the University of San Diego that represents the interests of alumni and students of Mexican heritage through the creation of programs that encourage and promote involvement with the university and its communities.
7. Overview – Mission To create opportunities for alumni, students and constituents of Mexican heritage to develop lifelong connections with their alma mater, with each other, and in support of the University of San Diego’s mission and goals.

Overview - Objectives To create opportunities and promote programs for alumni, students and other constituents of Mexican heritage to engage and build long lasting relationships with their alma mater, the University of San Diego. To develop programs tailored to this population that will promote giving in support of the University of San Diego’s mission and goals. To assist in the recruitment of students of Mexican heritage to enroll at the University of San Diego. To develop a relationship with USD students of Mexican heritage that is mutually beneficial and that continues throughout their careers and lives. To create a network of alumni and students of Mexican heritage to support and augment student life at the University of San Diego by providing mentorship and access to resources that will enhance their personal, educational and professional lives. To encourage and support graduates and students of Mexican heritage to apply the values-based education they received from the University of San Diego and instill positive changes in their respective communities on both sides of the United States/Mexico border.

Background & Accomplishments Commenced in 2009- 60 th Anniversary of USD Traditional Mexican Event in September Over 200 guests First Generations and History October of 2010 – Homecoming Weekend Mexican Reunion Event Over 180 guests Raised over $10,000 In 2011- Wine Paring Events Spring and Fall at La Gran Terraza Over 200 guests attended in total Raised over $10,000 Fundraising Summary to date Cash in giving approximately $21,000
