From Bobal to Monastrell the Messum Export Wine list contains plenty of carefully selected bodegas and artesan wineries that produce some astonishing blends from lesser known grape varieties.
3. D.O. UTIEL-REQUENA
A growing number of the 100+ producers that make up D.O. Utiel-Requena have, over the last few years, tamed
the unruly Bobal grape that dominates the region and are beginning to create some remarkably innovative and
balanced wines. The high altitude and Mediterranean influence give growers huge flexibility to create powerful
mature blends. Volumes are on the increase as is consistency.

D.O. ALICANTE
The Monastrell Grape variety finds in Alicante its best expression, thanks to the limestone soil and proximity to the
sea. Cold nights and hot days make for full bodied, well structured wines such as those produced by up and
coming growers, Bodega Vinessens.
