Addressing issues
? With national attention on environmental issues—such as energy efficiency,
green building, and
? sustainability—MCA closely tracks national codes and is poised to defend or
make changes
? that remove barriers to the use of metal in construction. The association
also monitors code and
? standards issues related to structural performance, wind uplift, fire safety,
acoustics, and energy.
Technical research
? MCA funds research on and performance testing of metal roof and wall
systems. Data from these
? studies are used to position metal favorably in codes, standards, technical
papers, and promotional
? materials. In turn, these publications help educate building owners,
designers, and installers. Most
? importantly, this research results in the use of more metal products in a
wide array of building
? projects

? METALCON International is the industry’s largest exposition and
? conference program dedicated entirely to expanding the use of
? metal in construction. Sponsored by MCA, the event reaches a worldwide
audience and includes

cerTificaTion Programs
Our certification programs provide members added value and credibility in
their respective markets. The Metal Roofing Certification Program sets the
standard for steep-slope metal roofing substrates and paint finishes. The program promotes the
widespread use of appropriate metal roofing products and increases consumer confidence in
choosing a metal roof.
The MCM Premium Fabricator Certification Program requires adherence to
performance standards. The program identifies select fabricators that have
demonstrated superior capabilities to deliver outstanding applications of MCM panels for
architectural applications.
