Editor's Notes

  • #4: Mission Statement: describes who we are and what our purpose is.
  • #8: Wayne Elsey, an executive for the footwear company New Balance. Mr. Elsey was motivated by the 2004 tsunami, to call his friends and ask them to donate shoes, resulting in a donation of around 250,000 pairs of shoes. A year later, our Gulf Coast was decimated by Hurricane Katrina, and Mr. Elseydonating over a million pairs of shoes.Since its formation, Soles 4 Souls has given away nearly 12 million pairs of shoes - currently averaging one pair donated every 7 seconds.
