Michael Franklin will hold a press conference to present documentation refuting false statements made by Tom Simon during a recent candidates' debate. Franklin will show a debate segment where Simon claimed there were no problems at a bar he owned, despite documentation of drug violations. Franklin will also present court documents about lawsuits against Simon for alleged negligence as an attorney and discuss Simon's current probationary status with the Ohio Supreme Court. Franklin will be available after to answer questions about the campaign and solicitor race.

Franklin will show the segment of this months Candidates Night event featuring himself and former Ashtabula City Solicitor Tom Simon. He will then present documentation refuting Simons statement given that night, in regard to criminal activity at the LA Caf辿, that There were no problems, during the period of time when Simon owned the bar and held the office of City Solicitor. He will also present documentation on drug violations at Simons Dry Dock Bar, occurring while under his operation and also during Simons tenure as City Solicitor. The City Solicitors Race segment of Candidates Night premieres, Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 7pm, on Kent State University-Ashtabulas cable access channel on Time Warner Cable. It repeats October 24, 28, November 1 and 5. Franklin will also present documentation and discuss the issue of Simon coming clean with the voters of Ashtabula about the status of his license to practice law in the state of Ohio. Even though he is running for City Solicitor, Simon is currently on a one-year probation, after receiving a stayed suspension of his law license, earlier this year, from the Ohio Supreme Court Disciplinary Counsel. The probationary period will not be over until February of 2012, and is conditional upon Simon obeying the counsels orders. City charter demands the City Solicitor have a valid law license, while holding office. Franklin will also present court documentation on several lawsuits filed against Simon by his clients for alleged negligence and misconduct as an attorney.
