The stages of cell division are interphase where chromosomes replicate, prophase where the nuclear membrane disappears and chromosomes wind up, metaphase where chromosomes meet in the middle, anaphase where chromosomes pull apart, telophase where the parent cell pinches in the middle and two new cells start to form, and cytokinesis where the cytoplasm pinches in the middle and new daughter cells fully form. The key stages are prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.
