These are slides from the talk given by Medigram CEO Sherri Douville to CISO's, IT leaders, and security engineering leaders on August 4, 2017 at (ISC)2. Mobile and IoT hold huge promise though there's work to be done to earn patients' and stakeholders' trust in efforts put towards systems reliability, performance, and security. In the talk and these slides, Ms. Douville reviewed how mobile computing is a new paradigm, how the hospital environment is prohibitively challenging from a physics standpoint, how mobile security is completely different than network or desktop security, and how to get physician and board support. Ms. Douville highlighted how apps that work in other environments don't work in hospitals and why. Session attendees learned how to explain mobile computing in the hospital environment to hospital executives and board members. They obtained an understanding of mobile computing and why it’s a growing security risk, how it’s particularly challenging in the hospital environment, and how to get physician leader and board buy-in. Attendees earned CISSP CPE credits. With Medigram, you can save lives by guaranteeing that the message was sent and received and by getting the information to clinicians reliably, even in low connectivity environments.
