What is a Group Interview?

Definition:
A hiring process where multiple candidates are interviewed together by one or more interviewers.
Purpose:
To evaluate candidates' skills, personalities, and teamwork abilities in a collaborative setting.
Common Features:
Several candidates participating at the same time.
Activities like group discussions, role-plays, or collaborative tasks.
Observations of individual contributions and group dynamics.
Key Skills Assessed:
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Teamwork and collaboration.
Leadership and initiative.
Problem-solving and adaptability.
Common in Industries:
Sales and marketing. Customer service.
Hospitality. Finance (J.P. Morgan)
Benefits for Employers:
Efficient way to evaluate multiple candidates.
Observes real-time behaviors and interpersonal interactions.

Mock Group Interview Game Rule

Divide into Two Teams:
Team 1: "Pitch Creators" C Collaborate in group discussion and develop a pitch for a pencil to school executive.
The final pitch is not the focus; this activity is an opportunity to showcase your individual skills and win the sales job.
The one selected student by judges will earn 3 points toward todays attendance,
which can compensate for up to 2 absences or serve as extra credit.
Team 2: "Judges" C Observe and evaluate individual contributions and teamwork within Team 1.
Vote for only one winner in the end.
Duration:
5 minutes for individual preparation. (Judge team please also prepare yours, to save time)
5 minutes for group discussion (preciously timed, you must stop when time is up).
5 minutes for Team 1 to present their pitch concept to the Judges.
5 minutes for Judges to give back your handout to the professor with the voted candidate.
Then switch roles.
0 minutes for individual preparation. (Judge team please also prepare yours, to save time)
5 minutes for group discussion (preciously timed, you must stop when time is up).
5 minutes for Team 2 to present their pitch concept to the Judges.
5 minutes for Judges to give back your handout to the professor with the voted candidate.
