The U.S. unemployment rate was 5.4% in March as the economy added 223,000 new jobs that month, averaging 191,000 new jobs added per month over the last 3 months. Professional and business services saw the largest growth at 62,000 new jobs while construction and health care both added 45,000 jobs each. The professional and technical services industry added 20.7 thousand new jobs in April with its unemployment rate remaining stable at 3%.
