2. Many of the words we use every day are formed by a prefix and a base
word, or a by base word and a suffix. You must be asking yourself,
what is a prefix? What is a suffix? What is a base word?
3. Observe the following word:
reheat
This word is formed by the prefix -re and the base word heat.
When we put them together, they create a new word with a new meaning: to
reheat means to heat something again.

8. We can define a suffix as a particle of letters that are added at the end
of a base word to create a new word with a new meaning.
