This document outlines a series of lessons to teach students financial literacy skills through using various online applications. The lessons include having students research student loans and careers, discuss credit with their parents, create photoshopped dollar bills to learn about taxes, and simulate working a career in Second Life to experience financial responsibilities virtually. The goal is for students to gain proficiency with online tools while improving their understanding of topics like loans, careers, credit, taxes, and personal finance management to benefit them now and in the future.
2. My Goal
By the end of this series of lessons, my students will know
how to use a series of different online applications that will
better their understanding of modern day financial
management. Some of the applications include, but are not
limited to: PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, QR Codes, Second
Life, and Podcasts. These applications not only will better
help them in the financial world, but will also give them
more proficiency with online programs to use for their own
purposes.
3. Lesson 1: How School Can
Impact You Financially

participation based, and completed the same day.

bill template using the tutorial provided for photoshop.
B.) Students will then have a variety of options to
purchase with their photoshopped money. C.) They will
do this in an effort to replicate the concept of taxes
starting with sales tax. This must be done with 100%
accuracy as it is participation based. This assignment will
be completed within 2 days.
7. Lesson 5: Putting it All Together
For my final assignment, A.) Students will create Second
Life account and experience working a career and paying
for things virtually. B.) This will be completed via the
Second Life Program pre-installed onto a class set of
