retail concepts
for disney’s collaboration with
weekender, we developed several
concepts that meshed with the
existing stores for ‘weekender kids’.
disney’s iconic imagery was used in
fixturing to complete the ‘disney
section’

for timex, we developed a concept
that was flowing and curvilinear.
lighting was dramatic, special focus
was given to free-standing units and
display niches for premium and
speciality merchandise

inexpensive wall with an image of
their brand ambassadors and backlit
blue acrylic shoe-holds, among other
fixtures

dinesh rao is a registered architect trained at the school of architecture, centre for environmental science & technology
(cept) at ahmedabad and at the eidgenossiche technische hochschule (eth) at zurich.
he has previously worked at the offices of chandavarkar & thacker (bangalore), architects’ combine (bangalore) and
archipart (zurich).
mr. rao has taught architectural design theory as visiting faculty at r.v.college and the bangalore institute of technology.
deepa mandrekar is a registered architect trained at the school of architecture, centre for environmental science &
technology (cept) at ahmedabad and at the eidgenossiche technische hochschule (eth) at zurich.
ms. mandrekar has previously worked at the offices of architects’ combine (bombay & bangalore) and schwarz und
marbach architekten (zurich)
she has taught architectural design and history as visiting faculty at r.v.college, b.m.s. college and the bangalore
institute of technology.
she has also designed fabric & furnishings, stage productions and multimedia lessons
