They offer a full range of design services from concept development through implementation including interior design, product design, architecture, and more. They are committed to design excellence, client satisfaction, and social responsibility. Their work includes retail design projects for various brands across India.

monsoon is the design collaborative of a group of creative people. we have a mix of diverse and yet complementary design skills to honestly respond to a wide range of complex challenges. the firm engages in the complete range of services, from concept development through design presentation, detailing, working-drawing, production, fabrication and installation. we have a strong commitment to excellence in design, client satisfaction and social responsibility.
at monsoon, we have spent the last few years refining the processes with which we understand our clients and their widely differing projects. we believe that creativity and an ability to visualize must combine with a professionalism that ensures timely and cost-effective delivery.

retail concepts for weekender, we developed several concepts that were modular in nature. shown here is a system of cat-pole fixturing that integrates hanging, stacking, accessories, displays, mannequins, and lighting
DISNEY retail concepts for disney’s collaboration with weekender, we developed several concepts that meshed with the existing stores for ‘weekender kids’. disney’s iconic imagery was used in fixturing to complete the ‘disney section’
retail concepts for timex, we developed a concept that was flowing and curvilinear. lighting was dramatic, special focus was given to free-standing units and display niches for premium and speciality merchandise
retail concepts for reebok, we developed an inexpensive wall with an image of their brand ambassadors and backlit blue acrylic shoe-holds, among other fixtures
retail concepts for jockey, we developed several concepts in our long association with them. shown here is a system of free- standing fixturing that integrates hanging, accessories, and lighting for their introductory women’s catalogues. this unit is suitable for shop-in shops

studio monsoon principals dinesh rao is a registered architect trained at the school of architecture, centre for environmental science & technology (cept) at ahmedabad and at the eidgenossiche technische hochschule (eth) at zurich. he has previously worked at the offices of chandavarkar & thacker (bangalore), architects’ combine (bangalore) and archipart (zurich). mr. rao has taught architectural design theory as visiting faculty at r.v.college and the bangalore institute of technology. deepa mandrekar is a registered architect trained at the school of architecture, centre for environmental science & technology (cept) at ahmedabad and at the eidgenossiche technische hochschule (eth) at zurich. ms. mandrekar has previously worked at the offices of architects’ combine (bombay & bangalore) and schwarz und marbach architekten (zurich) she has taught architectural design and history as visiting faculty at r.v.college, b.m.s. college and the bangalore institute of technology. she has also designed fabric & furnishings, stage productions and multimedia lessons
