- 2. STIs STI-(sexually transmitted Infections) There are two different types of STIs. One caused by bacteria and the other one caused by viruses. Bacterial STIs are treatable and have a cure Viral STIs are also treatable but they do not have a cure, they will remain with you for life.

COMMON STIs Chlamydia- Caused by bacteria, treatable Gonorrhea- Caused by bacteria, treatable Syphilis-Caused by bacteria curable only in stage 1 and 2 HPV- Caused by virus, symptoms are treatable but will not go away Herpes- Caused by virus, symptoms are treatable but will not go away HIV/AIDS- HIV is the virus that causes AIDS

What Illinois SEX ED classes DO NOT COVER 24.7% DO NOT COVER what action a student can take regarding rape and sexual assault. %2.7% DO NOT COVER where to get birth control and health related services. 65.7% DO NOT COVER how to use a condom. 62.6% DO NOT COVER how to use other forms of birth control. 48% of teachers believe that too little classroom time is spent in their school to properly cover sex education
