Ms. Moseley took a trip to Africa where she observed many aspects of local culture and wildlife. She passed over the equator 8 times and saw villagers walking long distances to sell goods or attend church. She witnessed a traditional Samburu tribe wedding dance and saw tribespeople starting fires and building homes from sticks. On a safari, she observed many African animals like giraffes, elephants, lions and hyenas in their natural habitats.

- 2. We passed over the equator 8 times during our trip.
- 3. Villagers walk 4 miles to sell their fruit at this stand.

- 6. The teachers were on strike, so the students were teaching each other in small groups that day.
- 7. They were excited about the stickers we brought first time ever seeing them!
- 8. This little boy had just walked 4 miles to get to his church. He loved the book we gave him.

- 10. Women of the Samburu Tribe they wear heavy colorful bead necklaces
- 11. They performed a traditional wedding dance it was a jumping contest! Starting a fire with sticks this tribe only eats meat (no vegetables) and drinks milk
- 12. Most children in this village start school at age 1 and only attend through 2nd grade. Only a select few chosen by tribe leaders are sent on to boarding school.
- 13. Women are in charge of house building, and must collect sticks for this task.

- 22. These monkey are cute, but sneaky! One monkey got in one of our tents, unzipped luggage, and ate the snacks he found!

- 39. A rainstorm is on its way to the savannah. This is the first rain they have had in over a year.
