As the Executive Director of Apollo Life a wellness company Ms Upasana strives to ensure that school children and the leaders of corporate India maintain good health. The services of Apollo Life encompass various dimensions of preventive and maintenance care. Apollo Lifes core objective is to address the mental, emotional, physical and environmental issues that account for most chronic and lifestyle diseases and to pre-empt their manifestation into illnesses. Ms Upasana recently launched Apollo M.I.N.D. Line, a tele-counselling helpline service (an Apollo Life initiative), which offers guidance and extends support to individuals of all ages in finding the right solutions to all their emotional and psychological problems. From the age of 15, when she began U Xchange a service to recycle books and notebooks that were distributed amongst poor children Ms Upasana has moved seamlessly into her role at Apollo Philanthropy. She is presently involved in an awareness-building campaign on cervical cancer. Her untiring efforts are also visible in other Apollo initiatives such as SACHi (Saving A Childs Heart Initiative), SAHI (Society to Aid the Hearing Impaired), CURE and others that come under the Apollo umbrella. In and out of wards, she spends a large part of her day with children who are being treated at the Apollo Health City, Hyderabad. Her concern for society is manifest in many ways, including an association with the Blue Cross that has also brought the cause of animals close to her heart. Ms Upasana is also the Editor of B Positive a wellness magazine. Touching more than 200,000 lives every month, B Positive enlightens its readers on topics related to health, wellbeing, fitness, beauty, diet and nutrition through articles written by doctors, specialists and other practitioners. The national magazine has a large subscriber base, along with a presence in major bookstores across the country. The eldest daughter of Mr Anil and Shobana Kamineni and the granddaughter of Dr Prathap C Reddy, Founder-Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Asias largest private hospitals chain Ms Upasanas endeavours contribute to Apollo Hospitals mission of touching a billion lives in a country that needs better healthcare facilities on a macro scale. ###
