We are proud of our Volunteers!A few years ago after a lot of dithering I took the plunge and decided to enrol for computer classes at the Mt Eliza Village Neighbourhood Centre. I was able to learn the basic details about computers ,how to save documents and pictures so that I could easily find them and how to navigate through this ¡°foreign territory ¡° I was introduced to Microsoft Word ,Publisher and other programs which empowered me enough to volunteer to compile and edit newsletters for my local conservation group. After being introduced to the internet, and with the use of e-mail and Skype, I have been able to keep in regular contact with my family abroad. Most fulfilling of all is that I have been introduced to networks such as Facebook, & Friends Reunited . I have been able to contact friends I lost touch with some time ago and although we are all living in different corners of the world we have been able to update each other on those ¡®lost¡¯ thirty years .At the moment we are in the process of planning a reunion. The Neighbourhood House provided me with affordable computer lessons and the classes were friendly and flexible. Nowadays I am happy to volunteer my help in the computer classes because I know that there is a whole new world out there for anyone who dares take the plunge !?Lynne Tucker ¨C Computer volunteer and Reception Volunteer since 2006 helping those who need help get connected!
