The IEEE MTT-S Special Interest Group on Global Humanitarian Technology (MTT-S SIGHT) aims to apply microwave technology to humanitarian needs and motivate students and professionals to make a difference. Its focus areas include disaster monitoring and relief, healthcare monitoring, and environmental monitoring. MTT-S SIGHT plans to hold student competitions applying microwave technology, workshops on wireless sensor networks for disaster relief, and collaborate with local IEEE chapters for outreach. Recent activities included establishing MTT-S SIGHT chapters, holding panels and competitions for students in India and Hyderabad, and presenting at the Global Humanitarian Technology Conference. Future plans include expanding activities in various regions and collaborating with other IEEE societies.

MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES SOCIETY SIGHT
from MHz (MegaHertz) To THz (TeraHertz)
An initiative by IEEE MTT-S Special Interest Group on Global Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) group
MISSION
MTT-S recognizes the roles and responsibilities that we have
outside our professional lives. We are all residents / citizens
of the town or city that we live in, and of the country that
we live in.. As an international organization, it is our duty to
be part of the solution by working together with others in
multi-disciplinary teams to achieve results that we ourselves
cannot do alone. MTT-S SIGHT focuses to motivate high
school students, young engineers and professionals, to
applying the low cost innovative microwave technology for
disaster readiness, and humanitarian need
