According to a graph showing language spoken at home in the United States from 1980 to 2000, the percentage of residents ages 5 and older who spoke a language other than English at home increased from 14% in 1980 to 20% in 2000, while the percentage who spoke only English at home decreased from 86% to 80% over the same period.
As educators, we can help reduce stigma around gender roles in career choices by providing equal education to male and female students and discouraging doubts about pursuing their preferred career paths. Allowing students easy access to research, incorporating fun projects, and using video conferencing can support multicultural education. Educators should also continue their own learning in a paperless and timely manner.
