The object of sizing is to prepare warp yarns to withstand stress, strain, and abrasion that may cause yarn breakage during weaving. An ideal size should increase tensile strength while retaining flexibility, lay protruding fibers along the yarn surface to form a flexible film allowing bending without damage, and provide good abrasion resistance. A graph shows that a multipurpose sizing agent provides higher size pick up across all yarn counts compared to a conventional sizing.
2. Object of Sizing is :
Prepare the warp yarn which can withstand :
- Stress
- Strain
- Abrasive
Which may result yarn breakage during weaving Operation
Ideal size should give the yarn :
- Increase Tensile Strength
- Retain it is intrinsic flexibility
- Lay Protruding fiber a long the yarn surface
- Form flexible film which should allow to take all the bending at
high speed running loom without damage
-Good abrasive resistant
