Spreadsheets are documents divided into rows and columns that are used to organize and calculate numerical data. They are used by engineers, bankers, supermarkets, teachers, and scientists to track finances, perform calculations, analyze results, and manage large amounts of information. Spreadsheets ease the process of working with numbers by automatically calculating totals, averages, and formulas.
2. Spreadsheet is a document which is divided into rows and columns to
record such things as items in inventory, income and expenses, debits
and credits. Spreadsheets are designed to ease the management of
numbers and calculations. They calculate totals, averages, percentages,
budgets, and complex financial and scientific formulas.

4. Engineers need to perform thousands of
calculations when designing bridges,
buildings, aeroplanes, cars etc.
They need to make sure that bridges will
be able to support themselves and will not collapse under the weight of
traffic or the force of strong winds. They need to work out how deep the
foundations of a house need to be in order to support the walls and roof.
Engineers use spreadsheets for many reason for
example to record test data, present test data, perform
calculations and many more.

5. Supermarkets use spreadsheets to keep
track of finances i.e. sales, losses and
money spent.
They also use spreadsheets to work
out queuing times and what are the
best number of checkouts to have
open at any one time during the day.
The might have a list of customers with a club card, and the products
they purchase. They might Use it to locate other
stores with phone numbers, etc. Or where they
can find other stock.
List of suppliers with details? When they will
begin to sell other products. What days they are
open, With are their most popular times.

6. Scientists need to be able to keep track
of their results from experiments.
They use spreadsheets to help them to
analyse what happened with the
experiment and also to predict what
might happen if they were to change
one variable.
Scientists use spreadsheets to track
scientific results, chemicals etc. They
also use them for data analysis, and to
compare results. Which helps them
draw up a conclusion on what might
happen.

7. Accountants need to keep track of all of the
money coming into the business and all of the
payments going out.
They need to be able to calculate profits and
forecast how well they think the business will

things it can be used for teaching or
to keep track of your students grades.
They use spreadsheets to create tables
on attendance, what classes they have
on what day. The best thing about using
spreadsheets is that they can add up
the numbers at the end of every
year and compare them to other years.
Using spreadsheets is good for teachers
because the program adds up your
number and can turn them in to
percentages for you, leaving you with less
work to do.
