Hello
On the 12th
of May 2010 I’ve landed in India. Now, after spending some
time in Indore and having my traineeship completed, I’m filing my report.
Generally speaking, it has been quite an experience, indeed!
AIESEC Internship in India IS a life-changing exercise, if you ask me.
Give me some free time, some blank paper and a pack of pencils – and
you will get a fascinating book on India, its education, business style;
you will get a vivid still-life picture plus philosophical reflection.
It is a mid-term feedback because I’ve stayed in India and currently
working as a Spoken English & Personality Development Trainer in
Indore. So, India is my present location and, one might say, my state of
mind.

First of all
I would like to thank AIESEC Ukraine team
for information and support provided on-line.
Up till now Belarus has no AIESEC presence,
therefore everything’s happened with the

Actually, I’ve never
thought of myself as of
a global leader in
Management
Education.
Many times I’ve
been thinking that it
is rather a Marketing
Internship rather
then an Educational
one.
But in Indore
Education is
Business.

How to Become a Celebrity in Just 2 Weeks

What I disliked about my
name and picture usage for
advertisement:
 This activity is supposed to be paid for.
 I had never been neither asked nor informed
about my appearance in media.
 Both my name & surname were misspelled.
 The information displayed was false.

was about the
positive attitude
of most students
& faculties of the
School, as well
as of the
Marketing Dept.

Other pleasant detail:
 Accommodation was provided on my choice
 A mobile phone was provided
 Regular safe food was provided
 Transportation was provided, sometimes V.I.P.
 Relative curriculum freedom
 Special attention by staff
… please remind me if I have forgotten something

Negative office admin
detail:
 Complete failure in planning: all activities are
performed on the spot
 Rapid personnel changing policy
 Preference to quantity rather then quality of
employees
 Problem of delegating tasks and caste style
seniors-juniors relationships
 Poor organizational skills of office staff
 Impossibility to reach an executive via e-mail and
mobile phone

Negative campus admin
detail:
 Need to stay in the campus for the whole day
 Against the agreement:
 no fixed working place was provided
 no fixed computer system was provided
 Constant electricity and Internet failures
 Lack of fans/ACs in the heat peak of the year
 No shower: impossible to use the gym

Negative curriculum detail:
 The internship started in the end of semester
 No prior information on cirriculum
 Russian was a part of Soft Skills (PGP), not a
subject
 No tests after the courses
 Full academic freedom in Project Management
 No attention to an IT specialized student

Positive campus detail:
 Library updated in July 2010
 Interest of some students
 Friendliness of most faculties
 Academic freedom
 Free tea provided 3 times a day
 Garden

Now about India & Indore
Enough about the internship

by the way,
for tea/coffee
in India they
use milk
instead of
water
!

Pollution
There is nothing
religious in this
piece of fabric
Anjali is wearing.
It just protects
skin from dust on
the street.

Religion
Yes,
there were struggles in
the past. Not in the
future, I hope.
I am especially
interested in Sikhism
tradition, if you ask me.
To understand it better,
one needs a visit to
Amritsar.

And sometimes bikes are
out of order…

Dhaba
is a restaurant out-of-town.
Not really a secure place.
Mainly for truck drivers.
Very democratic atmosphere.

It is always a pleasure to
meet a Russian speaker:
one will not forget his

Anyway,

Festivals,
of course!
Shamefully,
I hardly remember the
names of Indian
festivals, let alone Gods.
There are lots of
occasions to sing and
dance, really.
For instance,
