My dad has traveled to several fascinating places for work including Yellowknife, Canada and South Africa. In Yellowknife, he experienced the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights and visited an Ekati diamond mine. In South Africa, located at the southern tip of Africa, my dad visited national parks where he observed various wildlife, including hippos, and explored an art market featuring African dolls and art.

2. Yellowknife - CanadaMy dad has been to many places in the world since I was born, but I think the most fascinating place he’s been to is Yellowknife. Yellowknife is an old town in Canada but people still live there. The top picture on the left shows The Aurora. The Aurora is made up of small particles in the atmosphere. When sunlight hits the particles, the sunlight makes the particles glow, and that’s what forms the Aurora. The below picture is a tunnel in the Ekati Mine. Ekati specialises in real diamonds and mining them. My dad only goes to work on the computers, but I really wish he was a miner!!!!!
3. South AfricaAnother fascinating place my dad has been to, is South Africa. South Africa is at the very bottom of Africa, and the most south you can go. When he was there, he went to quite a few national parks, and saw lots and lots animals! (He even saw quite a few hippos!!!) The picture down the bottom is a picture of some African dolls. If you look very closely, you will see a difference. My dad got the dolls at a very big art market. Here, African artists can sell their wonderful dolls and other magnificent pieces of art.
