Sam is 12 years old and his favorite sport is football. He has been playing football since age 8 and wants to be a famous football player like his idol, Lionel Messi. Sam is on his school football team and trains three times a week. His team has matches on Sundays and sometimes tournaments against other schools. In his free time, Sam enjoys reading and playing computer games, and his dream is to have a successful career as a famous football player.

My Favourite Sport Read the following text about Sam’s favourite sport, then answer the questions that follow. 1. My name is Sam and I am 12 years old. I’m very fond of sports. But my favourite sport, as you can see, is football. I play football at school, at home, at the park, everywhere!
2. I have been playing football since I was eight and have always wanted to be a famous football player as Lionel Messi; in fact, he is my favourite player.
3. I’m in the school team and we train three days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We have matches every Sunday. From time to time, we have tournaments with other schools and it is quite exciting.
