Ghana is a country located in West
 Africa. The largest artificial lake is in
 Ghana and is called Lake Volta. The
 word Ghana means warrior King.

History

Ghana was first called Gold Coast due
 to its amount of gold. The country
 became Ghana in 1957 after it
 gained independence. The countrys
 first president was Dr. Kwame
 Nkrumah who was born in 1909.
Weather

Ghana is known for having a tropical
 climate because its near the
 equator. Between April and June,
 Ghana is at its wettest. November to
 March and July and August are its
 driest months.
