Ghana is a country located in West Africa known for its tropical climate and large artificial lake called Lake Volta. It was first called the Gold Coast due to its gold reserves and gained independence from Britain in 1957, becoming the nation of Ghana with its first president Kwame Nkrumah. Ghana has a long history of cocoa production and its national football team, the BlackStars, have won the African Cup of Nations four times.

History Ghana was first called Gold Coast due to its amount of gold. The country became Ghana in 1957 after it gained independence. The countrys first president was Dr. Kwame Nkrumah who was born in 1909.
Weather Ghana is known for having a tropical climate because its near the equator. Between April and June, Ghana is at its wettest. November to March and July and August are its driest months.
Famous Ghanaians Tinchy Stryder Dizzee Rascal Freema Agyeman (Rapper, Music (Rapper) (Actress) Executive, Business Man and Multimillionaire)

Chocolate Most of the chocolate you eat is probably produced by Ghana cocoa. Ghana has been growing cocoa since the mid 19th century.
Football Ghanas national football team is called BlackStars. They have won the Africa Cup Of Nations four times. Their best win is 13-0 against Kenya in 1965.
