I went to London last August with my husband. We flew to London with Ryanair Airways.
We stayed three days in a small hotel near the Kensington Gardens. We went by taxi, underground, bus for tourist, boat and walking
The first day we saw nearly all London by bus and boat for tourist.
We saw THE TOWER BRIDGE when it opened and closed, from the River Thames in a boat. When tall ships go up the river, the centre of the bridge opens.

We saw THE BIG BEN AND THE HOUSES OF PARLAIMENT, many times during the day, at night, from near, from a distance, from the River Thames in a boat, from the bus... THE HOUSES OF PARLAIMENT is the home of the British Government.
We saw ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL during the day, from near, from a distance, from the River Thames in a boat, from the bus... ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL is in the centre of the City.
We went up to the dome of ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL and outside the dome too. Its dome is 110 metres high. It’s the second biggest dome in the world, after St. Peter’s in Rome. We saw GOOD VIEWS OF THE CITY FROM ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL .

We saw THE MILLENIUM BRIDGE from St. Paul’s Cathedral. THE MILLENIUM BRIDGE is London’s newest bridge. There are no cars and there are good views of London and the river.
We saw THE TOWER OF LONDON outside. It’s one of London’s most famous buildings. It’s the City’s oldest building. THE TOWER OF LONDON is not just one tower, it’s eleven towers in different buildings. At the centre is THE WHITE TOWER.
We went to BUCKINGHAM PALACE AND we saw THE SOLDIERS CHANGE THE GUARD. BUCKINGHAM PALACE is the Queen’s home and her office. We visited some of the rooms BUCKINGHAM PALACE and some of the palace gardens.
THE SOLDIERS CHANGE THE GUARD at half past eleven most mornings. It takes about thirty minutes. We saw different parts of the ceremonial of changing the guard. The soldiers of the guard dressed in the typical black hat, red jacket and black trousers.
We went to ST. JAMES’S PARK to relax . St. James’s Park is next to the Mall, it is a small park, but very beautiful. It’s the oldest of the royal Parks. Lots of ducks live around the lake in the centre of the Park.
We went to PICCADILY CIRCUS during the day and at night. We saw THE SCULPTURE OF EROS and NEONS SIGN.
We went to TRAFALGAR SQUARE it’s one of London’s most famous squares. We saw THE STATUE OF NELSON with four lions in the base. We saw THE FOUNTAINES OF TRAFALGAR SQUARE and outside THE NATIONAL GALLERY.
We went to Great Russell Street at saw THE BRITISH MUSEUM . It´s the biggest museum in Britain. It’s the oldest museum in the world. Tickets are free. We visited a lot the galleries of THE BRITISH MUSEUM . We saw THE ROSETTA , it’s a stone that carries an inscription in different languages which helped decipher the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic script.
We went to THE SCIENCE MUSEUM, it has more than 10.000 exhibits . Tickets are free.
We went to HYDE PARK to relax under a big tree. HYDE PARK is nice and quiet park. It’s not far from the shops of busy Oxford Street. I sat down in a chair longer under of the trees of HYDE PARK .We walked along the lake THE SERPENTINE IN HYDE PARK.
We went to KENSINGTON GARDENS and we saw THE DIANA, PLAYGROUND it has lots of things for children . The KENSINGTON GARDENS is next to Hyde Park.
We saw THE CITY from the River Thames in a boat. THE CITY is the oldest part of London. It’s the home of the Bank of England and many other big offices.
We saw THE THEATRES from outside.
We saw LONDON EYE many times, during the day, at night, from near, from a distance, from the River Thames in a boat, from the bus... LONDON EYE is a big wheel of 135 metres high. It never stops moving, but it moves very slowly. Visitors travel in the capsules on the wheel for 30 minutes. When the weather is good can see 40 km. across London. LONDON EYE was built in 2000 and celebrates the millennium. Didn’t go up to the wheel, because it was quite expensive.
We saw many old and new BUILDINGS.
We saw TYPICAL PHONE BOX.
We saw HARRODS from the bus. HARRODS is the most famous shop in all of the city or in the world. We didn’t buy to HARRODS because it was very expensive. We bought in Piccadily in a small shop. It was very cheap.
We brought T-shirts of London, socks with English flag, magnets with phone box, soldiers or red bus and lighters with famous buildings of London.
At night we went to PUBS and we had a English food: fish and chips and we had a drink a pint o half pint.
