The document outlines the opening sequence for a slasher film titled "Torture". It will feature a mother and daughter at a school at night that is empty. The lights will cut out and the setting will change to an abandoned building. Props like a phone, mallet, and tape will be used. Costumes include casual clothes for the mother and a dress for the victim. Titles will be in red, flashing text on a black background. Camera shots will include an establishing shot, murderer's point of view, and close-ups of the victim's fear and crying. Background music will be an electronic siren to signify an escape from a mental asylum.

My opening sequence plan in response to research
1. My opening sequence- Torture
From my research I have decided that in order to meet expectations for a Slasher film I will use the
following:
The props I am going to use in my opening sequence will be:
Mobile phone
Mallet
Tape
The costumes:
Mum-Casual clothing, jeans and bright jumper
Girl (Victim)- dress
Man (Murderer)- Hospital apron, Black clumpy shoes
The setting will be at a school at night time, with no one else around, empty hallways, rooms, etc.
Lights will cut out causing complete darkness. The setting will then change to inside a derelict old
building that is bright and dull on the inside making it look cold and unwelcoming. It is a harsh
contrast to the scene filled with darkness prior to it.
The titles that I will use will be in a red font that looks like blood, on a black background. The font
will flash on and off the screen.
The camera ranges I use will consist of an establishing shot at the start which sets the scene,
followed by a POV of the murderer, and then close ups of the victim when she hears the news of the
escaped murderer and when she is being attacked, to emphasise her fear through facial expressions.
The second scene will begin from the POV of the victim so the audience understands her first view of
the derelict building after waking up from being drugged. There will then be a close up followed by
an extreme close up of the girl crying to end the sequence.
The music I will use will be an electronic, slow tempo siren which is the sound raised in real life if
someone escapes the Broadmoore mental asylum. It also fits into the best music genre voted in my
questionnaire.
