Walt Disney started his career in animation by working at an advertising agency where he met Ubbe Iwerks. They started their own commercial art studio together but it only lasted a month. Disney then conceived the idea for Mickey Mouse while traveling on a train. In 1928, his third Mickey Mouse film featuring sound was a success. Disney went on to create many animated films and characters but also dreamed of building an amusement park, which later became Disneyland. He grew his company successfully but died in 1966 from lung cancer without seeing The Jungle Book finished. The film demonstrated that audiences would watch and be emotionally moved by a full-length cartoon. The Three Little Pigs Walt Disney pioneered the use of sound and colour in motion pictures with such cartoon shorts as The Three Little Pigs (1933). 'Flip the Frog- Fiddlesticks' became the world's first coloured cartoon with synchronized sound in 1930. The recording system for 'Fiddlesticks' was the same for 'Steamboat Willie' 1928 (an American short film by Walt Disney and UB Iwerks).
