ABSTRACT
The field of dentistry is extremely important in supporting the optimal health of
people in all cultures. A lack of knowledge on the subject has led numerous people to
study it more rigorously and has led to the advancement of forms of technology
associated with dentistry and dental surgery. Oral anesthesia has become one of the most
researched areas of dentistry because of numerous effects associated with it. This review
project delves into the details behind the origins of oral healthcare, the creation and
involvement of local anesthesia, dangers involved in anesthesia’s application, its effects
on the immune system, case studies involving unique medical conditions associated with
higher risks of allergy development to tools used in oral surgery, and alternative methods
of achieving analgesic effects. By reviewing the fundamentals of neuron structure and
function a more detailed approach can be made in the study of oral anesthesia
application. Taking a closer look at the responses of the immune system and common
allergens found in a dental office dentists can reduce many of the risks associated with
severe allergic reactions making their offices safer for practice on patients of a wider
variety of health conditions. By using each of the aforementioned aspects of dentistry,
safer and more optimal practice in dental offices can be achieved.

This book is designed to introduce the reader to the fundamental information necessary for work in the clinical setting, supporting the technology used in patient care. Beginning biomedical equipment technologists can use this book to obtain a working vocabulary and elementary knowledge of the industry. Ethiopia is a high TB, TB/HIV and MDR TB Burden country. The FMOH is implementing a comprehensive TBL and TB/HIV control program and has achieved a lot in the past decade and is on track to achieve the MDG targets regarding TB and HIV. The increasing emergence of drug-resistant strains of TB is due to treatment defaulters and other challenges ranging from delays in initiating treatment, inadequate bed capacity, poor infection control in health facilities, and new infections. The following policy guidelines are intended for use by health care professionals involved in the complex and difficult task of MDR- and XDR-TB patients in Ethiopia. The guidelines focus on the clinical management, referral mechanisms and models of care. However, psychosocial support to ensure comprehensive management of the patients, strategies for infection prevention and control, and health services for health care workers (HCWs) are covered. Management of DR-TB is an evolving strategy, and needs to be adapted through evidence-based information. These guidelines contain recommendations based on the most recent and available scientific evidence and expert opinions. Comments and suggestions from those working in the field are essential to ensure a dynamic process, aimed at optimal control of DR-TB in Ethiopia.

This study aimed to determine the prevalence and factors associated with psychosocial distress among patients diagnosed with cancer at Machakos palliative care unit in Kenya. A total of 97 patients participated in the study through questionnaires and interviews. The study found that the majority (72.2%) of respondents reported experiencing psychosocial distress, with 43.2% reporting severe levels. The leading psychosocial problems reported were pain (83.3%), problems with treatment decision making (64.9%), and fatigue (59.8%). Male patients were found to be 85% less likely to experience distress compared to females. This thesis examines the relationship between healthcare quality and patient satisfaction at Hai Duong Children's Hospital in Vietnam. The author conducted a quantitative study using a survey to measure patient satisfaction based on the SERVQUAL model of service quality. Statistical analysis of the survey data found that the factors of assurance, empathy, responsiveness, and tangibles positively influence patient satisfaction, but reliability does not. There were also no significant differences found between patient groups of different age, education, job, or income levels. The study provides recommendations to hospital management to improve quality of care and increase patient satisfaction.

The study aimed to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes, practices and socio-economic factors related to the use of insecticide treated nets in preventing malaria. The study was conducted at Kericho Sub-County Hospital among mothers attending the maternal and child health department. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews and record reviews. The findings of the study will help inform recommendations on how to improve the utilization of insecticide treated nets for malaria prevention in the area.

This document describes a randomized pilot study that compares the effectiveness of etodolac alone versus a combination of etodolac and diazepam in treating fibromyalgia. The study involved screening 90 patients and randomizing 40 patients who met the criteria into two groups of 20 patients each.
