Mohsen Hassanvand is a mechanical engineer born in 1965 in Khorramabad, Iran. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in China in 2004, with a focus on energy conversion. He has been a faculty member at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran since 1996, where he has worked on nuclear power plant projects and taught courses in thermal hydraulics and related topics. He is also interested in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and computational fluid dynamics. He has published several papers in these areas and translated engineering textbooks from English to Persian.

They migrated south to the southwest United States where they adopted farming techniques from the Pueblo peoples and began herding sheep and goats when the Spanish arrived.
