Three employees resigned from unsatisfying jobs without having other positions lined up. Laura quit after a month at a nursery due to workplace bullying. She used her savings to start a dating business after a difficult period. Claire also left a high-paying marketing job due to stress and a change in management. She now runs a coaching company. While risky, resigning without a backup plan worked out well for these women but may not for everyone depending on their attitude towards risk and finances. Experts warn to consider your situation and not burn bridges when resigning.

This document discusses equipment maintenance and total productive maintenance (TPM). It outlines the aims of equipment maintenance as keeping equipment ready for productive operation and defines failure as when equipment loses its prescribed function. It then lists common symptoms of failure-prone workplaces and ways to prevent failures through conducting preventive maintenance like routine cleaning, lubrication, and inspection. The document also discusses implementing preventive maintenance to minimize erratic failure intervals, extend equipment life, and predict failures. Finally, it introduces TPM, explaining that as machines become more advanced, products are made by equipment so failures cannot be allowed, and all departments must work together to properly maintain equipment through TPM's 12 step deployment program.

The Villa Garda clinical service for eating disorders transitioned from an eclectic treatment approach to using CBT-E (cognitive behavioral therapy for eating disorders) between 2002-2008. They chose CBT-E because it is transdiagnostic, flexible, and focuses treatment on the core mechanisms maintaining eating disorders. The service implemented CBT-E step-by-step, including designing new inpatient and intensive outpatient programs based on CBT-E. Outcome data showed promising results, with most patients achieving normal weight and low eating disorder symptoms post-treatment and at follow-up. The goals of the Villa Garda clinical service are to provide all patients with evidence-based CBT-E regardless of diagnosis or

A survey found that male bonuses were more than double those of women, with men earning an average of 贈6,400 compared to 贈3,000 for women. In senior roles, male directors received 贈63,700 on average versus 贈36,000 for females. This bonus gap is attributed to women being less adept at negotiating pay rises, leaving the workforce to have children and returning with less confidence, and facing a male-dominated culture at the top. While legal action can be taken for pay discrimination, the process is lengthy and employees may be reluctant to sue due to potential career impacts. The report comes as increasing female representation, especially in boardrooms and leadership, is an ongoing challenge.
The document discusses lessons that can be learned from periods of unemployment. It notes that being unemployed can make a person stronger as they have to get organized and aggressively pursue new opportunities. However, once reemployed, some people who have never experienced job loss complain and do not appreciate having steady work. The document urges these "unmotivated employed" people to stop complaining, be grateful for their jobs, and work hard, as they could easily be laid off, like the 50 other qualified candidates seeking their position. It suggests that if these complacent workers could experience unemployment, it may motivate them to improve their work and positively contribute to the company.

It recommends processing emotions after rejection through exercise, spending time in nature, or volunteering. It also suggests networking to find new leads and consulting career experts to improve resumes and interviewing skills. The document warns that blatant self-promotion, extreme follow up efforts, and saying inappropriate things in interviews could be seen as desperate rather than proactive job seeking behaviors. Employers prefer candidates who can articulate their value and qualifications instead of just saying they need a job.

The document provides career advice from two experts, Ernie Cecilia and Roel Andag. [1] They advise to know your long term goals, find career paths that further those goals, and understand that choices have consequences. [2] Roel emphasizes that lifelong employability, not any single job, is most important in today's shifting job market. [3] The document highlights how their advice has helped the author realize their passion for writing and that lifetime employment at one company is rare, making continual learning and adaptability key.
This document summarizes reasons why some adults are quitting their jobs. It profiles three individuals - Lisa Felepchuk, Jennifer Goldberg, and April Brown - who quit demanding careers to pursue more flexible lifestyles focused on health, travel, or small business ownership. Experts cited note that constant stress and disappointment at work can lead to health issues, and that clearly defining next steps is important for those who quit. While quitting is now more common, it's not always the solution, and those able to quit comfortably are in a privileged position. Smaller changes may also improve well-being.

The author shares lessons learned from growing their small business from 3 staff to 15 staff over 4 years. Initially, the author worked closely with staff which motivated them and the business grew 50% in the first year. As more staff were added, the author continued working closely with all to pass on their passion which led to continued growth. However, as the author spent more time on the road, staff began losing passion and the business plateaued. The key lesson is the importance of the owner continuing to motivate staff as the business scales up.
