Federal Decree No. 1 to Establish and
Maintain the National Qualifications
Authority
 A committee was formed in Sptember,
2010 to run NQA and to facilitate the
implementation of the tasks entrusted to it
in coordination with the concerned parties.
 The NQA Board of Directors was formed
on 04/12/2011 under the chairmanship of
the Minister of Labour and membership of
the governmental sectors and industries
concerned
Distinct National Qualifications
to enhance economic and social
development.
 To develop and implement the
Qualifications Framework for the Emirates
to meet the requirements of the social and
economic development.
 Promote education learning outcomes link
with the labor market.
 Develop policies to recognize prior learning
and past experience.
 Evaluate institutions and education
programs and vocational training.
 Develop qualifications standards.
 Facilitate the transfer of individuals between
different education and training pathways.
 Promote life-long learning.
