Bangladesh is a small country. But it is full of natural resources. In the north
eastern and south eastern part has more natural resources than other parts of
Bangladesh. We use many kinds of resource and they play vital role in our
national economy.
Background
 A resource is a substance in the environment that is useful to people
is economically and technologically feasible to access and socially
acceptable to use.
 Resource is a source of supply, support, or aid especially one that
can be readily drawn upon when needed.
 Resource include soil, water, food, plants, animals and mineral.
What is Resource?

 A natural resource is anything that people can use which comes from the
natural environment.
 Natural resources are useful raw materials that we get from the earth.
 They occurred naturally, which means that humans cannot make natural
resources.
 Air, animal, coal, oil, mineral, natural gas, oil, plants etc are natural
resource.

 A non-renewable resource is a resource of
economic value that can not be readily replace by
natural means on a level equal to its
consumption.
 Such as: Fossil Fuels, Coal, Petroleum, Natural
gas etc.

 Coal mining of Bangladesh started with
the discovery of the first coal mine in
Jamalganj in 1962.
 May 2011, overall coal production was
around 3000 tons per day from
Barapukuria, Dinajpur.
 Khulna, Rangpur, Chittagong etc

 Dinajpur, Rangpur, Naoga, Khulna,
Chittagang.
 In 2015, the natural Gas reserves of
Bangladesh is 14.16 trillion cubic feet.
 Average daily Gas production of around
2700 million cubic feet.
 There are 23 discovered gas field in
Bangladesh which 17 is active.
 Some fields are: Chatak, Kamta, Horipur,
Titas, Bianibazar etc.
Natural Gas
 Sylhet, Sunamganj, Comilla,
Maulovibajar, Bhola, Chittagang,
Habiganj, Feni.
 The only oil field of Bangladesh has
been discovered at Haripur in 1986.
 Oil reserve of about 10 million
Barrels, recoverable reserve of about
6 million barrels.
 Production remained suspended
from 1994.
 Crude oil bearing reservoir horizon
were also founding Kailashtila and
Fenchuganj.

Human Resource
 Human resources are the people who make up the workforce of
an organization, business sector, or economy. "Human capital" is sometimes
used synonymously with "human resources", although human capital
typically refers to a more narrow view.
 Likewise, other terms sometimes used include "manpower", "talent", "labor",
"personnel", or simply "people".

 Total land : 130,172 sq. KM
 Median Age : 26 years
 Birth rate : 21.14 births /1000 populations

 Life Expectancy Rate:70.94 years
 Fertility rate : 2.4 children/women
 IMR : 44.09 deaths/1000 live births
 Sex ratio Rate: 0.95 male/female
