Neandtherals were a human species closely related to Homo sapiens that evolved in Europe and Asia while Homo sapiens evolved in Africa. Neandtherals were similar in size, growth, and physiology to Homo sapiens but rarely lived past 50 years of age. Economic competition between the two species is believed to have led to the extinction of Neandtherals.

closest relatives. Neandtherals were humans but they
were a different species to us, Homo sapiens. They
