Keep 1 quart of oil, jumper cables that are 4 gauge and 12 feet long, and 2 pieces of scrap wood in your car in case of emergencies. It's also a good idea to have a gallon of water, duct tape, electrical tape, and a tire gauge. Extra nice items include trash bags, gloves, paper towels, and a rag.
