ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Inspection & Quality Assurance Carries out a systematic planning and execution of inspection activities for static metallic equipment/piping, analyzes results and raises appropriate recommendations. • Executes the scope of work for on-stream and shutdown activities for equipment & piping inspection. • Identifies and applies proper procedure and technique to evaluate failure of equipment and detect or evaluate degradation mechanism of equipment and materials. • Consolidates inspection results, analyzes data and submits reports or recommendations to supervisor. • Calibrates inspection instruments/tools/gadgets to ensure consistent accuracy and reliability. • Executes the corrosion monitoring program by evaluating the corrosion probe/coupons. • Qualify welders’ competence performing in-house works and carries out quality control checks of welds performed by maintenance and project personnel. • Oversees the inspection activities of contractors. • Performs quality control checks on all painting/coating works and underground pipes wrappings prior to acceptance. • Performs quality control on re-tubing of exchangers & coolers. • Oversees pressure tests on various equipment and piping after repair or before start up. Planning and Budgeting Evaluates the range of inspection activities within area responsibility and develops a plan of budget requirements and work execution. • Develops inspection programme of activities to cover on-stream and shutdown periods on medium and long term bases subject to final approval by the Section Head. • Estimates the budget requirements within his area jurisdiction for capital and operating expenditures. • Plans the frequency of instrument calibration based on instrument criticality and application. - 3. • Plans for critical piping and static equipment / in-service periodic inspection. • Initiates procurement activities of inspection instruments by raising necessary PRs. • Monitors the inventory level of inspection consumables e.g., DP materials, couplants, greese Technical Support Renders technical support to other functional teams on issues related to inspection processes, materials, standards and codes. • Reviews the contractors’ work procedure on inspection processes for conformance with company requirements. • Prepares and establishes procedures on NDT-related activities. • Provides technical assistance related to inspection/material concerns to project execution team and other technical disciplines. • Assists in bids evaluation on inspection –related materials, e.g.., and materials quality for maintenance and capital budget requirements. Data Management Renders technical support to other functional teams on issues related to inspection processes, materials, standards and codes. • Consolidates inspection data into the Inspection Work List (IWL) system including associated recommendations. • Inputs Inspection Report into the Inspection Management System (IMS) for easy reference and retrieval. • Uploads the NDT Reports into the Inspection Management System for further action by engineers and supervisors. • Manages asset inventory in the IMS. • Consolidates inspection data into the Inspection Work List (IWL) system including associated recommendations. NDT of structural and pipe weldings, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks,gas turbines,corrosion monitoring of insulated and non insulated pipe lines, detection and monitoring of hydrogen induced cracking(HIC)on pressure vessels and sour gas lines(as a part RBI), inspection and testing of welder qualification test pieces and welding procedures .Also doing AUTOMATIC U.T scanning for wet H2S cracking and TOFD on welds by using latest computerized A,B&C scan presentation instrument-- ultratek UT scanner 2. SOLUS OCEANERING-ABU DHABI (AUG.1993 TO JAN 1994) NDT INSPECTOR seconded to ADCO, Abu Dhabi, based at their facilities at Asab. Duties include all aspects of NDT testing for the ongoing on-stream corrosion/erosion monitoring programme. Inspection and testing of structural and pipe welding, preparation of detailed sketches of the work carried out and submitting reports to the quality assurance department in Abu Dhabi. 3. EASTERN PETROCHEMICALS – K.S.A. {DEC. 1992 TO FEB 1993 } Worked as an inspection engineer for their turn around maintenance. Carried out all kinds of inspection of welding, visual and dimensional inspection of pipelines, pressure vessels ,interpretation of radiographs…etc. 4.
