Increase Case Picking Rates Smarter, Faster, Safer Order Fulfillment. The Dematic LaserTrucks+ solution provides an enhanced process of picking cases. It is a highly efficient method that makes order fulfillment smarter, faster and more ergonomic. That means higher picking rates and improved order accuracy. LaserTrucks+ is ideal for mixed case pallet assembly operations; it can also be applied as a pallet transportation solution. The LaserTrucks+ solution is made up of 3 components. It combines laser guided pallet trucks with voice directed technology and software to increase picking productivity. Laser Guided Pallet Trucks The LaserTrucks+ solution increases pallet truck functionality to driverless operations using industrial grade laser guidance systems. At the start of an order, the LaserTruck delivers a new pallet directly to the picker, automatically moves with the voice-equipped picker as they verbally confirm picks, and transports the completed pallet to shipping while the next LaserTruck brings a new pallet to the picker. The case picking productivity increases as operators are freed up to focus solely on picking. By eliminating the non-value added tasks associated with a typical case picking operation, LaserTrucks+ has the potential to double picking productivity. Add Voice Directed System Further optimization of the picker’s productivity can be obtained through the addition of voice technology. With voice directed activities, the operators listen to instructions from a voice headset. With hands free and eyes focused on picking, in place of reading a pick instruction using paper list or RF device, the picking process is more productive. In additional, picking accuracy increases and ergonomics are improved. Real Time Software PickDirector is the Dematic Warehouse Control System software (WCS) that manages and directs the picking operation and provides an interface to the WMS or ERP. It provides real time management and complete transparency of your LaserTrucks+ operation, including management information and decision support, order prioritization, order status, productivity statistics and reports, and workload analysis and reports. The overall functionality required to optimize, manage and control the LaserTrucks+ system is included with the PickDirector software. Dematic ResourceDirector software module is offered with the LaserTrucks+ system. ResourceDirector manages the warehouse activity from an operations perspective. The software provides labor optimization functionality; it monitors, manages and directs operations staff to prioritize as well as create new tasks. The software assigns tasks to available operators based on activity requirements in the warehouse. Baseline labor performance statistics are developed by the historical time tracking of task assignments.
