When most people think about mobile technology their first thought is probably about telephones. We are really excited by the application of technology in other business areas. One of the areas we seen significantly benefits for business is vehicle tracking. Not only do we offer vehicle tracking but we can also offer tracking on company mobile telephones. Whatever vehicles are used within your business, you can manage them with vehicle tracking. Welcome to the launch edition of our newsletter! There is so much going on in our business that we have been bursting to share it. We want our newsletter to be different from most of the ones you may have seen - it’s more about YOUR business than OURS. Our passion is digital technology and more specifically - digital communications. As communication technology has developed and evolved, we have grown with it. The smartphone era has seen a huge leap forward in the capabilities of communication devices. We take great pride in being able to provide advice and solutions that work best for their business. Easy joined up communication Your phone’s small screen isn’t as good as a tablet’s or laptop for browsing the web or streaming videos. The good news is that it’s possible to use your smartphone as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. This is called tethering and many smartphones provide this feature. The process involves enabling the hotspot option on your phone, setting up wireless security with a password, then connecting your tablet to the wireless network just as you would with any hotspot. We suggest you keep a close eye on how much data is being used whilst tethering by using a dedicated app on your phone. There are plenty of free apps available as well as network specific one’s. If you have any questions, want help setting up your phone or to see if your phone and tariff are capable of tethering give Oliver, Dan or Russell a call. At Codeblue, we believe in the power of referrals. with heart and soul At Codeblue Group we try to do our best to support those in need. Have a look at our recent initiatives: Alex on the Streets Bradford based waste solutions company Kar Skip and Grab Hire have signed a sponsorship agreement with the Bradford Bulls. Bradford based Kar will be responsible for all waste solutions and recycling at the Provident Stadium for the next two years. Commenting on the agreement today Bulls Chairman Omar Khan said: “We are delighted that Kar have come on board with us. Once again it is another local business showing their support for the Bulls in the city. Their support for us is tremendous and their contribution to the club is immense. We hope they will remain partners with us for many years to come.” We’ve been working with Simon on the Streets for some time now, working at the soup kitchen - this local charity focuses on helping homeless people restore their lives back to normal. Last month one of our apprentices, Alex Holdsworth, decided to participate in a one-night rough-sleeping event in order to collect money from those willing to sponsor the charity. Alex managed to gather over £200 from Code Blue Group workers, friends and family. This young aspiring salesman commented: “The event was eye-opening. We simply don’t realize the difficulties Wilby Ltd nominated homeless people face every day - things like inability to open for 2 awards at this years Halifax a bank account and therefore find work. That’s one of the things Courier Business Awards Simon on the Streets helps with. The charity is not government funded, because realizing set targets is not possible in this Halifax based insurance and risk management environment. But you get to meet people who’ve made it, specialist, Wilby Limited, is celebrating after being who got out and changed their lives. It’s inspiring.” nominated for 2 awards at The Halifax Courier Business 99p well spent If you thought 99p won’t do much, think again. Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice encourages local businesses to become members and commit to donating 99p a day in order to help them reach their annual fundraising target of £2.5 million. The 99ers with Codeblue Group amongst them can help make a real difference to the lives of local children, young people and families who rely on Forget Me Not invaluable help. Awards 2013. Wilby Limited are in the final 3 for both Business of the Year and Employer of the Year. To be nominated in these categories means a business has to show growth and development, support to the community and social responsibility policy, adapt to market changes, demonstrate commitment to environmental improvements, commitment to staff development and training and show that they do a little bit extra for their employees to create a good working environment. Wilby Limited’s Director, Richard Blackburn commented “This is an excellent achievement for us, the award nominations reflect all the hard work from everyone.” The awards dinner will take place on the 14th of November at The Shay in Halifax.
